Valid Passport:

You must send the actual passport. The passport must have at least six (6) months validity remaining before expiration and has at least two complete blank visa page for the visa stamp.

Photograph:

You must provide two 2"x2" passport type photo, No glasses to be worn in any photo .

Proof of Address :

Applicants must submit one clear copy of their utility bill or driver license . For Minor, copy of parent's driver license is acceptable.

Copy of the birth certificate :

Applicants must submit one clear copy of their birth certificate. For Non-US born applicants that do not have their birth certificate, provide a copy of a document issued by Government authorities. This document could be an old (not current) passport or a school leaving certificate etc., provided it shows their personal particulars like name, date of birth, parents names, and nationality.

Persons of Indian Origin or Former Indian Nationals:

Former Indian nationals applying for an Indian visa are required to surrender citizenship of India immediately if not done already. Same day processing time will not be available, and the overall processing time will be increased.

If the applicant has already renounced Indian citizenship, one of the following must be produced as proof:
• A Certificate of Renunciation issued by a Consulate of India or,
• An Indian Passport that contains a stamp that specifically renounces the citizenship.

If the applicant has NOT renounced their Indian citizenship, or cannot show proof, the following must be provided:
• Two (2) copies of the completed renunciation form - https://www.indian-visa.com/pdf/Renunciation_Form.pdf . This form is current as of May 14, 2010. Disregard all prior versions.
• Renunciation fee of $20 paid with a separate Money Order payable to 'Consulate General of India'.If the applicant is applying in the Washington DC jurisdiction, the Money Order should payable to 'Embassy of India'.
• Copy of the Naturalization Certificate. For minors who were not issued naturalization certificates, the parents must write a statement that the minors citizenship was obtained through the parents, and provide a copy of the parents naturalization certificate.
• Most recent Indian passport that was issued in India AND, if applicable, most recent passport issued outside of India. In both cases, applicant must provide photocopies of the first three pages of the passport and the last two pages of the passport.
  
  If you are applying in the San Francisco jurisdiction, you must also supply a copy of any pages containing an entry stamp into the US. If no Indian passport was issued in India you must supply a copy of your Green Card or Employment Authorization Document; or you must fill file form I-130 with the US Immigration Servics at http://www.uscis.go
• For New York Jurisdiction:
  
  A renunciation certificate must be obtained first from the New York Consulate directly before you can apply for an Entry visa.
  
  Please contact the New York Consulate directly to obtain the certificate.
  
  

Business Letter:

A Business Letter from your company address to "Consulate of India " explaining the purpose of the trip, guaranteeing financial support for you while in India.Your business letter must state that you want a 1 year, 5 years or 10 years visa, if you are requesting a visa for more than 6 months, otherwise, the Indian consulate will only issue a 6 months visa.

Sponsor Letter From Organization in India:

A letter from the sponsoring organization in India on company letterhead indicating nature of applicant's business, probable duration of stay, state the validity of visa applied for (1 Year, 5 Year or 10 Year), places and organizations to be visited and also a guarantee to meet maintenance expenses etc. should accompany the application.

Additional Requirements for Non-U.S. Citizens:

You must send a copy of both sides of your U.S. Green Card or your U.S. visa.

Note: The 10 years visa is not available for non U.S. citizen.
